13.03.2017Capital Controls lifted

The Greenlandic-Icelandic Chamber of Commerce notes the announcement of the Icelandic Government that capital controls have been lifted with effect on Tuesday. The Government of Iceland today announces that capital controls on the country's individuals, firms, and pension funds have been lifted with effect on Tuesday. The removal of the capital controls, which stabilised the currency and economy during the country's unprecedented financial crash, represents the completion of Iceland's return to international financial markets.

15.02.2017New Board and changes to Bylaws following the AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the Greelandic-Icelandic Chamber of Commerce was held in ReykjavÝk 1 February 2017. The Chairman of the Board, ┴rni Gunnarsson, presented the highlights of last year's activities in the beginning of the meeting. The highlights of the meeting were changes to the bylaws and election of the Board.

09.10.2016GLIS participation in The Arctic Circle Forum

The Greenlandic Iceland Chamber of Commerce (GLIS) organised a breakout session at the Forum about Avitation in the Arctic aree in co-operation with VerkÝs Consulting Engineers and Air Iceland. Other representatives and members, such as Royal Arctic Line, Eimskip, Faxafloahafnir and Icelandair, were present and seen at the Arctic Circle Forum 2016 and participated in various sessions.
